When it comes to fine dining during the hot Spanish summer, you can’t go wrong with a crisp, sparkling bottle of rosé. This delectable pink-colored wine has exploded in popularity lately, especially among millennials. Spanish rosé is very popular. In Spain, this delicious wine is most often made from a blend of Grenache, Mouvedre or Tempranillo grapes.

Rosé wine can be combined with different kinds of food, for different occasions. Whether it’s a romantic Valentine dinner, a picnic at the park or a summer evening barbeque in the backyard – you definitely can’t go wrong with rosé. When paired with desserts though, it’s a culinary delight that will leave your taste buds tingling.

In this article, we’ll introduce you to some of our favorite dessert and rosé pairings, and yeah, they are as delicious as they sound!

Our Favorite Rosé-Dessert Pairings

First off, you should know that there are several rosé varieties, ranging from dry to fruity ones. For this article though, we will be using a fruity variant of sparkling rosé in our combinations.

Chocolate Lava Cake: First on the list, this is an ideal dessert for any true chocolate lover! A piece of rich chocolate cake with a warm gooey center works really well with the sweet fruitiness of sparkling rosé. Don’t feel restricted to lava cake though; rosé wine works excellently with any chocolate dessert, be it cake, truffles or mousse.

Fresh Fruit: On the off chance that you are not so fond of chocolate, rosé also goes perfectly with a fruit dessert. Not only does a bowl of fruit look beautiful, but it’s a healthy choice as well. You can decide to pair it with a simple dish of fresh fruit, like peaches and ice cream, or go for some tasty fruit sorbet. There’s also the well-known classic – chocolate-covered strawberries! Easy to make, delicious and romantic; these succulent treats make a fantastic combo.

Cheesecake: When in doubt, always go for a delicious soft cheesecake. For fancier occasions, you could opt for a light pink strawberry cheesecake with a lovely topping of fresh raspberries or strawberries.

Rosé-Based Desserts

Apart from just having your rosé wine in a glass along with your dessert dish, we also have some fantastic recipes that incorporate rosé directly into the dessert that we just had to share with you. A heavenly combination if there was any!

Drunken Strawberries: Samuel Sanchez from MONEDEROsmart says, “Instead of a fruit salad made of strawberries, why not infuse the berries directly with the wine, and coat with a healthy dose of sugar. It’s delicious (I can feel your mouth watering already) and easy to make.”

Rosé Sorbet Mimosas: Want a grown-up treat in the heat of summer? Make a sorbet treat by topping off a scoop of your dessert with some bubbly rosé. Drink the wine, and then grab a spoon to scoop up the creamy dessert.

Hungry yet? Whatever you’re doing this summer, get yourself a crisp bottle of rosé and enjoy the sparkling fruitiness.
