The winery Bele Casel owns some of the most amazing views from their vineyards in the Asolo DOCG region of Prosecco. During my tour we were able to tour some of their vineyards in their classic company branded Fiat 500, this is such a special way to go touring the region and was the start of a special afternoon with Luca and his sister Paola who manage the family estate.

Peaceful locations and hilly slopes, their vines are certainly getting the best from nature and weather to produce the character of what Asolo Prosecco DOCG is worldwide known to offer in earthy and mineral notes. Many vines are decades old and still producing great Glera and other grape varieties allowing Paolo, who is the vineyard manager and winemaker, to produce a selection of 4 Prosecco labels from grapes of which many are picked by hands due to the steepness of the land they grow on.

Family grower is certainly a correct description of Bele Casel. A warmness and closeness in how they work with family members helping to produce the wines which are now exported internationally. A farming tradition and being in the right place at the right time which led to their brand evolving since its creation over 40 years ago by working hard, learning from mistakes and seeking to make improvements in every step of their business. Maybe it is wrong to call them entrepreneurs, but it is the source of what makes a business success from a simple idea, the journey of countless mistakes to learn the craft of your business like no other and after years of trying you suddenly shine through from the quality of the work you produce.

On to their wines. In total, they have four labels available to purchase. I was also allowed to taste through a selection of vintages from their Charmat method. Most expressed the typical minerals from the region along with a more dry and crisp taste – all my reviews are on Vivino.
