A.R Lenoble Honey from Champagne

AR Lenoble reserves certain plots of the 10 hectares it owns in the Grand Cru village of Chouilly on the Côte des Blancs to plant trees and flowers. Beehives were installed in 2014 and for the third year in a row, the estate has produced a limited amount of honey.

Antoine Malassagne installed two additional beehives in April 2016 bringing the total number of beehives on the estate up to four. This represents the potential for 160 jars of honey, an extremely limited production but an important symbol dedicated to the promotion of biodiversity in the vineyard.

“This year’s honey was harvested from the lieu-dit of ‘Le Vallon’ in Chouilly during the last week of August,” said owner Antoine Malassagne. “It is the fruit of the labours of the 140,000 bees who spent the summer there foraging among the flowers. Sweet and floral, it is meant to be enjoyed without any respect for moderation.”
