Denbies Wine Estate is offering visitors the chance to participate in 2016’s exceptional harvest and take a peek behind the scenes at England’s largest single estate wine producer.

Visitors will be given an introduction to grape picking on the 265-acre estate, which includes established varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, as well as some pioneering plantings of Sauvignon Blanc and new grape Solaris. They will then take a walking tour of Denbies state-of-the-art winery, which produces a wide range of award-winning still and sparkling English wines.

The Denbies Vine & Dine Grape Picking Experience will also include a tasting of some of the estate’s flagship wines, with lunch and other refreshments provided throughout the day. Visitors will take home a Denbies Estate-grown vine as a memento of their day.

The Denbies Vine & Dine Grape Picking Experience will take place on selected dates throughout October from Monday to Saturday between 8.30am and 3.15pm. Tickets cost £45 per person for Denbies Loyalty Club Members (£55 for non-members), with bespoke itineraries and group rates also available. Bookings can be made online at www.denbies.co.uk.

“The Denbies Vine & Dine Grape Picking Experience is a chance to get an up-close look at what happens in our vineyard during this busy and exciting time of year. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in what promises to be an exceptional vintage both in terms of quality and quantity for Denbies Wine Estate,” said Denbies CEO Christopher White.

Based near Dorking in Surrey, Denbies produces about 450,000 bottles a year or about 10% of the English wine industry’s output. The estate produces a range of award-winning sparkling wines.
