English Wine Producers revs up for a busy summer

Ahead of what promises to be another busy summer, English Wine Producers (EWP) is gearing up for its Annual Trade and Press Tasting, followed by a generic presence at the London Wine Fair and English Wine Week, all taking place in May.

Annual Trade and Press tasting, Monday 11th May
English Wine Producers will open its doors early on Monday 11th May to welcome trade and press to their Annual Tasting which takes place at One Great George Street, SW1, from 9.30am-4.30pm.

The decision to move the event to a Monday was taken to encourage more independent retailers and on-trade visitors to attend. A record number of exhibitors from all over the UK including winemakers and representatives will be on hand to talk about the wines with many established, familiar names as well as some new faces to the tasting attending. The latest industry figures will also be released on the day.

Julia Trustram Eve, Marketing Director of English Wine Producers, the generic marketing body for English Wine, says, “I’m excited about this year’s event which promises to be our best yet, with even more exhibitors and wines on show. This truly is the showcase event for English wine, featuring producers from across England, from Kent to Cornwall, Suffolk to Worcestershire and up to Yorkshire.

“We’re delighted to welcome on board two new EWP members exhibiting for the first time – sparkling wine producer, Exton Park from Hampshire who will be unveiling their first wines including their unusual Blanc de Noir and renowned Stopham Estate from West Sussex, with their award-winning single varietal still wines.”

Central Tasting Table highlights the wide range of English wine styles
The popular central tasting table will feature a line-up of over 100 wines, from sparkling through to still and late-harvest wines, giving visitors a snapshot of the English wine industry today and showing the breadth and depth of individual producers’ wines and the different winemaking styles.
