Royal Warrant Holders, Camel Valley have been selected as the wine for the naming ceremony of Her Majesty’s Royal Navy ship, HMS Tamar. The ceremony takes place in Scotstoun, Glasgow on 21st March 2019.
Said Bob Lindo: “It is a great honour to see a Cornish wine used for the naming of TAMAR and we are delighted that Camel Valley ‘Cornwall’ Brut has been chosen as her affiliated bottle. I hope that TAMAR sees many years of safe service with the Royal Navy and I look forward to us always playing a special part in the relationship between the ship, Truro and the rest of Cornwall.”
Ex-RAF pilot Bob Lindo and his wife Annie planted their first 8000 vines in 1989, never dreaming of the phenomenal success they would achieve within 2 decades. The family-run operation that they have set up has grown in size and become one of the leading names in English wine. Sam Lindo, Bob and Annie’s son, is now head winemaker and Annie continues to prune her own vineyard.
