Opera at Albury Vineyard

Favourite arias from the world of opera will boost the grapes and delight the audience when a group of young professional opera singers perform in Albury Vineyard on Sunday July 10

Opera at the vineyard was launched last year and proved a huge success. This summer’s afternoon event combines much-loved arias and ensembles from operas by Mozart, Beethoven, Puccini, Verdi and Bernstein with award-winning organic wine and homemade cakes – a perfect recipe for pleasure. Sit amongst the vines on the southern slope of the North Downs and enjoy beautiful views over the Surrey Hills whilst sipping “A glass of Albury” and listening to a medley of opera favourites.

There is a family link between opera and wines. One of the young opera singers is Emily Wenman, daughter of Nick Wenman who owns the organic vineyard. “We’re really looking forward to returning to the vineyard to perform some of our favourite gems from the opera stage in such a unique, beautiful setting,” she said.

Tickets are £28 per adult, £18 per child (10% discount for wine club members) which includes a glass of Albury Estate sparkling wine (or soft drink) on arrival and homemade cakes in the interval. Wine and a selection of soft drinks will be available for purchase on the day, by the glass and bottle. £5 of the ticket price is redeemable against wine purchases made of the day. Tickets are available online.
